The LORD often contrasts the "prudent" and the "simple" in Proverbs. A prudent person is one who is "wisely cautious in practical affairs". Somehow the virtue of prudence is not held up to the esteem it should enjoy among the Lord's people. Conversely being "simple" is sometimes mistaken for "faith". An intelligent God, who made us in His image, created us. We weren't made to blindly trip through life with a silly look on our face. We are expected to exercise wisdom and sound judgment in our life. That prudence can keep you from danger, and make your life much more pleasant. Suffering because we were foolish and failed to heed the warning signs of impending danger is not holy, it is a self-inflicted wound. Make your life a whole lot easier and safer by learning to be prudent. The Lord made you to be like Him!
